Their programming software has always been reliable and easy to use, making it far easier to manage memories and settings than doing it from the radio itself. Issues have been rare, but on the few occasions I’ve needed support, it’s been excellent.In the most recent instance, I purchased the USB-78 USB-Serial to USB-C programming cable for programming Retevis B3H radios. While RT Systems doesn’t offer software for that radio—I was using Retevis’ CPS—the RT Systems cable with its FTDI chipset worked flawlessly under Windows ARM running in a VM on a Mac. The Prolific-based OEM cable did not. Without the RT Systems cable, I simply would not have been able to program the radios.RT Systems doesn’t just support radios with no OEM programming options, or write excellent programming software better than OEM software, but their cables also surpass OEM-supplied cables.Between long-term reliability, excellent support, and thoughtful hardware choices that solve real-world problems, RT Systems has earned my loyalty. "Radio is not easy. It's a lifetime pursuit. I've been at it for nearly 50 years and I still don't have it all figured out yet, so anyone who thinks that it can be boiled down to a PHD radio (Press Here, Dummy) isn't really being realistic. It takes work, study, trial and error and patience to gain experience. There are no shortcuts, just a pathway.
