"Every August we honor the memory of former National Park Service employees who died in the line-of-duty. Sadly, this year we add one more name to that Memorial. Robin Sullivan Pendery, 33, a seasonal mountaineering ranger from Enumclaw, WA, died around 2 p.m. on June 4 after falling into a crevasse near 14,000 Foot Camp on Mount McKinley while on a climbing patrol. Despite immediate rescue efforts she did not survive. Pendery first joined the Denali mountaineering staff in 2024, supporting climber safety, emergency response, and mountaineering operations on North America’s highest peak."
