"Shri Jibon Kanai Poddar was born on the 17th Day of August in the year 1930, the holy day of Janmashtami, the birth day of Lord Sri Krishna. He lost his beloved father at the age of 4 years. His elder brother was then a boy of 8 years. His mother was the only sister of 7 brothers. His widow mother went to her father's place in Faridpur (at present in Bangladesh) with her children. Little Jibon Kanai was brought up in his maternal house. He passed school final in Bangladesh and there after came to Kolkata in the year 1951 during partition of India and Bangladesh. He completed his graduation from Surendranath College of Kolkata. While pursuing his graduation there was an outbreak of Pox virus in Kolkata and he was engaged in the work of inoculating Pox vaccine through injection under the directives of Government authorities at the Secretariat, the Writer's Building. He did many odd part time jobs, one of which was to supply lamps from Bengal Lamp factory in Jadavpur and from Asia Lamp factory to the retail outlets at Ezra Street. He also used to supply hair combs, hair oil (Jobakusum Hair Oil), Aalta (Mahawar - the red dye) and vermilion (Sindoor) to different retail outlets of stationary items."

"At 24 years of age he got married to a 18 year old lady Smt. Mina Poddar in the year 1954. He joined L. R. ARTHUR LYON & CO in the year 1961 as an Accountant. He got employed in Bharat Carbon & Ribbon Ltd. (BCR) at Taratala, Kolkata, as the chief Accountant in the year 1965 by encashing the experience he gathered from L. R. Arthur Lyon & Co. At the same time he was engaged in a part time job in BIMAL HOMOEO HALL PVT LTD. with his friend Late Kali Krishna Das as Accountant. Jibon Kanai and Mina are parents of four sons. They gave birth to their first child Goutam in the year 1956. Their second child Uttam was born in the year 1959 followed by the third child Bijoy in 1962 and fourth child Ajoy in 1963. His elder brother expired on 29.11.1969 at the age 48 years and left his wife, three sons & four daughters. The family of his elder brother was maintained full heartedly & with overall responsibility by the extremely kind hearted Jibon Kanai. His mother left for her heavenly abode on 15.09.1984 at the age of 85 Years. Late Subodh Mazumdar, owner of BIMAL HOMOEO HALL PVT LTD. decided to leave the premises of his business due to requirement of larger space."
