If wolf pups die directly or indirectly due to Fielder’s actions, he is not troubled. He says that just like the larvae who are killed when he sprays a wasp nest, so are wolf pups when their parents are killed, the pups being, to him, no more sentient or social than popular culture imagines wasps to be.
